Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: February 2026
Cite Verse (“we”, “our”, or “CiteVerse”) operates the website and services at citeverse.live and related domains (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up or log in, we collect your email address and any other details you provide (e.g. name). We use this to create and manage your account, sign you in, and contact you about the Service.
Audio and transcripts. When you use the Service (including the web app or the Cite Verse Chrome extension), we process audio you choose to stream (e.g. from your microphone or, in the extension, from a browser tab). That audio is sent to our systems and to a trusted third-party speech-to-text provider so we can detect Bible verses in real time. We may store transcripts and related session data (e.g. detected verses, session length) to provide the Service, show your “Journeys,” and for billing and support.
Usage and session data. We log how you use the Service (e.g. session IDs, connection times, credit usage) to run the product, prevent abuse, and bill correctly.
Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. We may store billing-related identifiers and transaction history (e.g. for receipts and support).
Cookies and similar technology. We use cookies and similar storage (e.g. for login tokens) to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. You can control cookies in your browser; some features may not work if you disable them.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- check_circle Provide and improve the Service (e.g. real-time verse detection, Journeys, and the Chrome extension).
- check_circle Authenticate you and manage your account and credits.
- check_circle Process payments and send receipts or billing-related messages.
- check_circle Comply with law and enforce our terms.
- check_circle Send service-related or security notices when necessary.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third parties to run the Service:
Speech-to-text. We use a third-party provider to convert audio into text so we can detect verses. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policy and our agreements with them.
Stripe. Payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment data they process.
Hosting and infrastructure. Our servers and related services may process and store data on our behalf.
We recommend reviewing these providers’ privacy policies. We only share data with them as needed to provide the Service.
4. Data Retention and Security
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed for the Service, billing, and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data; we will do so subject to legal and operational requirements.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data (e.g. encryption in transit, access controls). No system is completely secure; we will notify you of a breach where required by law.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction Ask us to correct inaccurate personal or billing data. Note: transcript and other AI-generated content we provide are tools for you to review and confirm; AI can make mistakes, and you have final responsibility to verify and approve any output before you use it or make it public. We do not treat correction requests as applying to that generated content.
- Deletion Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object or restrict Object to certain processing or ask for restriction in some jurisdictions.
- Data portability Receive your data in a portable format where applicable.
To exercise these rights or ask questions, contact us using the details in the “Contact” section. You can also update account details and manage cookie preferences in your browser.
6. Children and International Use
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected a child’s data, please contact us so we can delete it.
Our servers may be in countries other than yours. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those locations.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may notify you by email or a notice in the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
